Practice Leader, National Security and Defense

An engineering professional experienced in managing highly technical operations critical to national security, Olivares leads Innové's National Security and Defense practice area. This practice provides enterprise business process outsourcing to the government to support security-clearance-required acquisition program management, information technology, intelligence and logistics contracts.

With strengths in program management, systems engineering and strategic planning, Olivares joined Innové in 2006 to strengthen corporate operations. Previously, he was director of business development for multiple mid-tier defense contractors developing the information assurance cryptographic modernization market. As a systems engineer for TRW Inc., Olivares was instrumental in developing an enterprise management and engineering contract for the Air Force, supporting global satellite operations and maintenance. During his military career, Olivares managed an engineering team for satellite operations on a $2-billion satellite constellation and worked in research and development at the USAF Phillips Laboratory, developing small-sat technology and field-level command and control.

Olivares holds a bachelor's degree in astronautical engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and is currently pursuing a master's degree in the Management of Technology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
